Terms of Service

Citewell is operated by Blockstart Ltd (“Citewell”, “we”, “us”), registered in Scotland, company number SC783316, with its registered office at 272 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4JR, United Kingdom.

Citewell is a tracking tool that periodically asks AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Grok, via their official APIs) buyer-style questions you choose, and records whether your brand was named, at what position, and in what tone. It also drafts page content, community replies, and outreach emails for you to review and publish yourself.

Citewell does not scrape any AI assistant, does not guarantee that any engine will name or rank your brand, and does not itself publish anything on your behalf. Citation and ranking outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including the AI providers’ own models and policies, which can change at any time.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Citewell. If you use Citewell on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these terms.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at support@citewellgeo.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

• Citewell is offered on paid tiers starting at £79 per month (GBP), with a 7-day free trial on any tier. See our Pricing page for the current tiers and their limits.
• Where payment is enabled, starting a trial requires a valid payment card. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you may cancel at any time before then to avoid being charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel from your Billing page at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Citewell never receives or stores your card details.
• We may change our prices with reasonable advance notice. Continuing to use Citewell after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.

You agree not to:

• submit prompts or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone else’s rights;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with Citewell or the third-party AI services it queries on your behalf;
• use Citewell to violate the terms of service of OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, xAI, or any other third-party provider we integrate with; or
• use the service to build a competing product, or resell access to it without our written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

You retain ownership of the brand names, prompts, competitor lists, and other content you submit to Citewell (“Your Content”). You grant us a licence to use Your Content solely to provide the service to you — for example, sending your prompts to AI engines and generating your reports.

You are responsible for making sure Your Content does not infringe anyone else’s rights and that you have the right to submit it.

Answers returned by third-party AI engines, and the action-plan drafts (page copy, replies, outreach emails) Citewell generates from them, are provided for your review. We do not guarantee their accuracy, originality, or fitness for any purpose, and you are responsible for reviewing and editing anything before you publish it. Citewell does not publish content on your behalf.

Citewell, our logo, and our software are our property or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms transfers any of our intellectual property to you, other than the licence to use the service as intended.

Citewell depends on third-party AI providers, payment processors, and infrastructure providers to operate. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or changes to their own terms, and any interruption on their part may affect Citewell’s availability.

Citewell reports what happened when we asked an AI engine your question; it does not, and cannot, guarantee that any engine will name, rank, or favour your brand, now or in future. We make no promises about search rankings, sales, or business outcomes resulting from your use of Citewell.

You may stop using Citewell and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the service, and will give you reasonable notice where practical.

Citewell is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blockstart Ltd’s total liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your own country of residence.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Citewell after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
